Iman Sidonie – Samuels is an award winning artist living and working in London.
Her practice currently studies acts of collecting, touching on ideas surrounding the transmission of memory through objects and techniques, preservation and fragility in both domestic and museological contexts. Using a variety of materials such as phone bills, steel shelving, or plaster, she uses domestic presentation and conservation practices to reimagine and recontextualise the approach towards institutional methods of navigating and caring for the archive. She works to transform them into tactile and ephemeral versions of memory, reflecting on the Black British experience often through a nostalgic lens.
She is a graduate of BA Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, and currently part of the Associate Studio Programmes 12th cohort.
